Hammocks offer a fun, safe and secure method of therapy particularly in children with sensory processing issues.
Hammocks are both easy to use and provide a range of highly therapeutic benefits, including to help activate the vestibular system. For sensory therapy, hammocks provide a safe, comfortable and calming environment in which to conduct treatments, activities and exercises.
Often used by occupational therapists but equally easy to setup and use in a home, school or kindergarten setting. Children are able to feel comfortable and secure allowing exercises to be fun and providing extra confidence for them to try things and immerse themselves for longer in activities.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐"This has been amazing for our family, we have four kids, two with special needs who adore this swing. It is so interesting to see how each of the kids use the swing differently. Just need to get another one for the girls bedroom as well. So much better than buying more plastic toy junk! Ditch the crap and invest in something that the kids will enjoy as much as it benefits them." Kylie, Waikato.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Love the rainbow colours. Both my preschooler and my toddler love just hanging out in the chair. It is also great how the chair spins on the hooks rather than spinning on rope. We also use it to help improve balance for our preschooler through spinning. Excellent product. Thanks!" Taryn, Tauranga.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Excellent product! We’re very happy with it! Bought to use inside for our daughter with high and complex needs." Rachelle, Rolleston
While we'd recommend talking to your occupational therapists about specific activities and exercises, simply rocking in a hammock is good for children as it helps produce endorphins and can stimulate balance muscles.
Hammocks also give your child their own 'special' place in which to play, rest and be calm. Hammocks can provide a feeling of defying gravity or floating while also feeling safely held.
A unique feature of our children's hammocks and why they are well recommended by therapists is that there are no 'open' strings in the hammock body or arms to provide a safer environment.
Over 2021 we are expanding our range of children's hammocks to include hanging nests, a hammock chair and a child friendly hammock with enclosed arms in both child and family size. We hope to expand this range further into 2022.
