If you are new to the world of hammock relaxing or haven't used hammocks from Latin American before you may need some tips to get the most fulfillment from your hammock. You may not find your perfect relaxing position straight away but don't worry it won't take long and you'll be a hammock pro in no time!
Typically traditional hammocks from Central and South America provide for the most comfortable position when lying diagonally across the hammock. This is true of all our none bar hammocks also.
You may be inclined to as many new hammock users do to lie lengthwise down your hammock. It's up to you ultimately but this position is not the most comfortable. This position can cause the fabric to tighten and close in around your body in a type of cocoon effect. The hammock and material are designed to be spread wide giving you full body support.
Like the locals do, lying diagonally is the best position for relaxing and sleeping. It will provide you with a flatter surface and keep the hammock spread allowing you to enjoy your setting and surroundings better. All in all the diagonal position will provide you with a more comfortable and pleasant experience.
Hammocks with spreader bars are different in this regard as the wooden bar at each end keeps the hammock permanently spread open. These are the ones designed to be laid in lengthwise down the hammock and provide a more open feel. If you prefer this position for your hammock relaxation time then our spreader bar hammocks are the ones for you.
Like your own little floating cloud! Chair hammocks offer a more upright relaxing position. Depending on the size you have you can either sit upright with your feet rest on the ground with our single size chairs, or lean back and extend them out fully in our lounger size chairs.
