Cotton is one of the most popular material choices for hammocks. It is very well suited to provide a soft, reliable and comfortable hammock. The features of cotton material include;
Hammocks have to withstand a lot of weight, use, wear and tear during their lifetimes. To ensure hammock durability, it is important that the lying surface and suspension ropes will easily carry the intended weight and are tearproof. Cotton naturally has long fibres, as such, it is very tearproof and robust. To ensure continual quality and strength, regular quality checks are conducted by our supplier on their material yarns. This provides confidence that your cotton hammock will provide you with durability, robustness and comfort.
When relaxing in your hammock on a hot day, your body naturally loses fluids. Pure cotton is especially absorbent, meaning your sweat is absorbed, leaving you more comfortably cool and dry. Being machine washable, you can easily keep your hammock clean and fresh.
Cotton fibres create a very comfortable surface, being soft to the touch and on exposed skin. Cotton fabrics will not produce any lint.
The weight of cotton is a good indicator of quality - with lightweight showing high quality. Quality differences are associated with the length of the fibre, as such differences in cotton material can be substantial. The pure cotton used in the creation of our hammocks has long fibres and is very light.
Our range of cotton hammocks are made of pure cotton (100%). The benefit of pure as opposed to recycled cotton is brighter more vibrant colours, greater comfort and a longer-lasting hammock.
