With New Zealand's quickly changing weather it's good to know a rain shower will not harm a product made of HamacTex® or polypropylene. These fabrics are water repellent encouraging rain drops to simply bead and drip off the hammock, leaving the fabric dry. Heavy showers may eventually soak through, but keep it outside and it will quickly dry once the rain stops and be ready for use again shortly.
Long-term exposure to the sun is not a problem to HamacTex® and polypropylene hammocks either: Even with months of direct sun exposure, the colours maintain their brightness while the fabric remains soft and supple. With a similar feel and look to cotton you don't have to give up your hammock comfort either. You may even have trouble telling the two apart.
